AHS REUNION BIO

Dave and I will celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary August 8. I feel fortunate everyday to be married to the guy I both dearly love and really like. With kids (Katherine and Curt) grown, we’re making the most of increased freedom and flexibility these days.

We lived in Indiana 26+ years before moving to the East Lansing area. Both kids, doing well and gainfully employed since college (Yay!), live and work in the area. Not sure how long they’ll stay in Michigan, but we enjoy having them nearby.

Also get a kick out of having our granddog, Hillary, with us frequently. (Can’t imagine what we’ll be like with grandchildren.) She spends weekdays at our house, getting lots of attention from Dave, who works from home, trading commodities, after retiring from farming and extension. He’s also chief cook and bottle washer these days and much better at it than I ever was.

I’ve worked in communications in some capacity since graduating from Iowa State and for the last 15 years in higher ed. I’m now the director of marketing communications in Michigan State University’s central communications office. Love my work leading comm teams, including a talented creative team, to advance the MSU brand.

Michigan is beautiful, and we plan to stay for the near term, although we’ve started discussing what the next chapter might look like. My parents are still in Ames, and we get back to Iowa several times a year. Dave, also an ISU alum and fond of my home state, had a great time riding in RAGBRAI with old friends from Indiana last year.

Ames was a lovely place to grow up and is always a good place to call home. I look forward to visiting with you all—and special thanks to those who worked so hard to get us all together.
