Many thanks to those who organized this! Our niece will be married in Minneapolis on the Saturday of reunion, but we plan to make a quick trip to Ames Friday night, to meet up with those at Olde Main.
I attended ISU, earning a BS in Family Environment, but spending most of my time in the Music Department. Years in the touring ISU Singers chorale yielded many happy memories and great friendships that remain still today. (In fact, some of us Singers alumni also sang on tours to Australia in 1998, and Italy in 2001.) I met my husband of 38 years, Bryan, through roommates, and spent time working on an MS in Gerontology. Our first child was born before I finished...(but she was worth it!) We have 2 daughters, both grown and married.
While the kids were at home, I worked part time in a great physical therapy clinic. Still trying to decide 'what I want to be when I grow up,' there have been years spent as a contract pharmaceutical rep (then Prozac went generic), a Community Relations Coordinator for a senior living community (learned I am better at serving people than selling apartments), and my favorite -- a flight attendant for an airline that served major cities and also transported military (I'm the only girl on my block that has been to Kuwait. Sadly, that airline is no more.) 4 weeks ago, I started work as Patient Service Coordinator at a Waterloo hospital. (and sing in a group, "Bel Canto Cedar Valley.")
Ames was such a great place to grow up, and I love coming back. Looking forward to seeing you all!
