Greetings to AHS Class of 74. I am living in Marblehead Massachusetts, happily married to Catherine and enjoying work as an investment adviser and as a lecturer at MIT in the mathematics department. We have a blended family with my daughter Emily (age 25) and Catherine's daughters Sarah and Amy (ages 32 and 30). Life is good and we enjoy Boston's north shore.

Reviewing life since graduating, here goes with an overview of 40 (I can't believe it) years. I graduated from Harvard in 78, studied statistics for a master's degree at Imperial College, University of London, and a doctoral degree from UC Berkeley. Having married my college girl friend from Massachusetts in 1979, we returned to Boston in 1982 and I started a career in academics teaching at the Harvard statistics department and then at the business school at MIT. My daughter Emily arrived in 1989. Soon after I started my company focused on statistical consulting/modeling. Mixing academics and consulting was good for a few years but I wanted to focus full time on investment management. A consulting project lead to starting a hedge fund in 1995 and since then I've been investing/trading using quantitative models to manage investment programs. My marriage of twenty years ended in 1999. Good fortune arrived in 2001 meeting Catherine on a blind date and we married in 2002 (a festive New Year's Eve party/wedding). Marblehead has been a great town to live, work, and raise a family. Emily, a gifted artist, studied at the school of art in Savannah Georgia and now is back in Massachusetts. Sarah and Amy have always lived close by, apart from their years at Union College in NY. In 2010, Catherine and I lived in Cyprus, the Eastern Mediterranean country, while I was portfolio manager with a European hedge fund. Living overseas was a completely fabulous experience and opportunity. We loved the people and country and look forward to going back. In 2013, I reconnected with MIT, teaching statistics and financial mathematics at the mathematics department. It has been very stimulating to teach again and has lead to another opportunity. This summer we're traveling to China for a month where I'll be teaching a couple of mathematics classes.

Best wishes to every one for a great reunion. I look forward to catching up with friends' news. Hope to make it for our 50th!
