Hello everyone! I've been gone for so long and not had contact with very many of you, unless you found me on Facebook. I left Ames in '74, attended UNI and began teaching in southeast Iowa in the fall of '78. I lost my husband to lung cancer in 2006, retired from teaching in May of 2012 and returned to Ames that fall. My folks are 89 and 90 now and still living in their home. My two daughters are both married, and the oldest one, with three children under the age of 4, has settled in Ames. Needless to say, I was called upon to help, and that's so nice to still be needed! My youngest daughter and family live in Cedar Falls, so I'm closer to them now as well! It's hard to start all over again, but I look forward to making new friends, finding new hobbies, and reconnecting with some of you that are still in the central Iowa area! I have trouble believing that we're over 40, much less close to 60. :)
