In thinking about this 40th reunion, I keep coming back to the old adage (or maybe it's a punchline), "If I'd of known I was going to live so long, I would have taken better care of myself!" I also have a lifelong friend who did graduate with us, who recently said he wasn't going to this reunion because he wanted to remember everyone just as he remembered them! My only reply to that was that I thought he was cheating himself out of a great weekend that will be here before we know it, over before we like it, and then it's back to our lives where most of us probably feel more comfortable. I can totally understand where he's coming from, but I'm still going to work on him! He'll be there, I'm sure. There are probably more than a few of you reading this who might feel the same, maybe you don't have many fond memories of high school. If so, I really hope you remember what I said to my friend, and just get over it for 2 1/2 days, and please show up. Heck, you can even make it just 2 days if you don't want any donuts!
Speaking to the point of what I've been up to the past 40 years, I've been involved in some sort of sales, or sales management position for over 35 yrs. These have varied from ones I loved (bakery and food service sales) to ones that were basically a stopgap between the more favorable ones (such as cars and trucks). I am now retired from the daily run-around, and have created a whole new one here, at the keyboard. Is this one successful yet? No. But is has ,just enough,to keep getting me up every morning!
